about this project

This project was an enjoyable experience. Our client, Marlysa, is a Executive Business Coach specializing in diversity equity and inclusion, as well as a published Author. Her objective was to obtain a diverse array of images to enhance the marketing and branding of her two distinct businesses. Since she engages in public speaking, she required photos that conveyed emotion and enthusiasm. Her foresight was great. She understood the importance of having images that would complement her written content when promoting or pitching her speaking engagements. Graphics could be integrated into the final photos, or a graphic designer could isolate her from image to use in a custom design.

We were able to produce this brand shoot on location and in the studio to make it appear that the images were taken over time. The shoot was done 2 hours in the studio on day one. Day two was a 2 hour shoot at a location near DTLA.

The client wanted to make sure she had as many diverse images possible to use over the course of a year. She was planning on pitching to organizations and non-profits. We accomplished multiple outfit, hair and location changes.

Marlysa was well prepared for her shoot days. She had her clothes separated by outfit; from jewelry to shoes. For the in-studio shoot, I booked the perfect studio, it had a make up vanity, and changing room within the studio space. Because Marlysa was so well prepared we were able to shoot many different looks on day one. She came with no assistant and no fan fare.

While shooting on location, Marlysa would do her outfit and hair changes in the car while my assistant and I would prepare at the next location. All the locations were shot in different areas of the same location. No driving involved. We would just walk the equipment via wagon, in many cases just a few feet. I worked with one photo assistant for both days of this shoot.
